Lieutenant Michael Zarro

Lieutenant Michael Zarro was hired on January 2, 2007 and is a graduate of the Morris County Police Academy’s 69th Basic Police Class. After graduating from high school, Zarro attended Morris County Community College where he obtained an A.S. in Criminal Justice. He then began to attend Richard Stockton University until he was hired as a police officer by Mount Olive Township.

While serving with the Mount Olive Township Police Department, Zarro was assigned as a Field Training Officer in the Patrol Division before being assigned to the Detective Bureau in 2013. There Zarro served as the Department’s Juvenile Detective while also conducting and assisting in a variety of different investigations. In 2016 Zarro was promoted to the rank Sergeant. He was then reassigned to the Patrol Division and served as a squad supervisor. Currently, Zarro is the supervisor of the Traffic Unit and assistant to the Patrol Commander.

During the course of his career, Zarro attended Centenary College and obtained an B.A. in Sociology with a Criminal Justice intent. Currently he is pursuing a M.A. degree in Justice Administration and Public Service from the University of Saint Elizabeth. 

Zarro has received several Department awards including Life Saving awards, Honorable Service awards, Grand Cordon award, and the Meritorious Service award.
