Sanitary Inspection Results

The Township of Mount Olive Health Department’s Environmental Division conducts sanitary inspections at such facilities as: Retail Food Establishments, Mobile Food Vendors, Temporary Food Vendors, Tattoo/Body Art Establishments, Pet Shops/Pounds/Kennels, Massage Parlors, Youth Camps and Public Recreational Pools. 

Township of Mount Olive Health Department Inspection Rating System

After an establishment is inspected, a sanitary ratings is assigned. Evaluations of facilities are rated as followed:

  • Satisfactory - assigned to establishments that have met substantial public health safety and sanitary standards.
  • Conditionally Satisfactory - assigned to an establishments which have met partial compliance with public health safety and sanitary standards. These evaluations result in required re- inspections and possible issuance of summons and fines.
  • Unsatisfactory - assigned to an establishments which have one or more significant violations that may constitute an imminent public health hazard and endangerment to the general public. The Township of Mount Olive Health Department institutes necessary measures provided by law to ensure that the establishment does not operate until a re-inspection is conducted.

Sanitary ratings are required to be displayed via the use of evaluation placards posted in such a manner that they are viewable by the public. For additional information regarding Sanitary Inspections, please contact the Health Department at (973) 691-0900 Ext. 7330.
