PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT THE TOWNSHIP OF MOUNT OLIVE IS HEREBY ANNOUNCING A WATER RESTRICTION AND CONSERVATION NOTICE TO THE CONSUMERS OF TOWNSHIP-OWNED WATER SYSTEMS IN ACCORDANCE WITH TOWNSHIP CODE, ARTICLE V, SECTION 318-32 ENTITLED “RESTRICTIONS ON WATER USE”. IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT EACH WATER CONSUMER TAKE MEASURES TO CONSERVE WATER AND HELP ENSURE ADEQUATE WATER SUPPLIES FOR THE HEALTH AND SAFETY OF OUR COMMUNITY.
EFFECTIVE MONDAY APRIL 13th 2026 UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
UNDER THIS ORDER, RESTRICTIONS FOR THE ALL-TOWNSHIP WATER SYSTEMS ARE AS FOLLOWS:
- LAWN WATERING- odd or even address numbers will determine what days you may water your lawn. If your address ends in an odd number, you may water on odd numbered days. If your address ends in an even number, you may water on even numbered days. LIMITED HOURS ARE ALSO IN EFFECT ON YOUR ASSIGNED DAY. You may water from 5 AM until 8 AM or 6 PM to 9 PM. No one can water from 8 AM to 6 PM on any day.
- Washing of structures/sidewalks/ driveways is prohibited.
- Flowerbeds, vegetable gardens, shrubs and trees may be watered using a hose with a handheld shut-off nozzle or other low-volume watering method. But not between the hours of 8 AM to 6 PM.
- Vehicles may be washed, but only with a bucket or hose with an automatic shut-off nozzle.
- Planting of ornamental vegetation, grass and sod by residents or landscapers is discouraged since watering restrictions are in effect. If circumstances warrant such activities (ex. new construction), then new sod or seed may be watered daily for the first 25 days only. You must notify the Water Department on the date of seed planting or sod laying.
