The Flanders-Netcong Road/Rt. 206 intersection is scheduled to be re-opened tonight, Monday, August 28, 2023. Work will commence starting at 8:00 pm and work through the night to return the intersection to its original status. Unfortunately, the contractor failed to finish the off-site improvements in a timely manner and will return at a later date. TBD. The remaining work will be done in off-peak hours (nights/weekends) as to not cause any further disruption in travel. The issues impacting the final completion of the intersection improvements are the relocation of the utility poles, delivery of the new traffic signals and a design conflict of the curbing along Flanders-Netcong Road. The Township shares in your frustration and has worked diligently with the New Jersey Department of Transportation, the County of Morris, Contractor, and Developer to re-open the intersection prior to the start of the new school year.
