All Residential Swimming Pools over 24 inches require a Zoning, Building, Electrical permit and possibly other township approvals before installation. This includes pools sold at local retailers and department stores such as plastic or metal sided, soft sided, inflatable and temporary pools.
Please contact the Building Department at 973-691-0900 ext. 7391 or Ext. 7231 for more information needed to install a pool on your property. Also required is a self closing/self latching gate (removable ladders do not meet requirements) and a minimum 48 inch guard such as a fence for pools less than 48 inches.
