Sergeant David Hering

Hering was sworn in as a police officer and began his career with Mt. Olive Police on July 2, 2012. He is a graduate of the Morris County Police Academy's 79nd Basic Class and is currently assigned to the Investigations Division. In January of 2014 and 2015, he was assigned as the Department's Dual Squad Officer (DSO). He holds an Associate’s degree from Sussex County Community College, and currently serves as a Field Training Officer for the department. Hering has received several departmental awards including two Life Saving Awards, two Honorable Service Awards, and an Educational Achievement Award. He also received the Morris County 200 Club Valor Award in 2015. Additionally, Hering has served in the capacity of the Treasurer of Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge #122.
