Officer Lonnie Elbaum

Officer Elbaum began his career with the Mount Olive Township Police Department as a Police Dispatcher in February of 2009. He was hired as a Police Officer in July of 2012 and graduated from the Morris County Police Academy's 79th Basic Police Class. Officer Elbaum is a graduate of Kaplan University where he obtained an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice. Officer Elbaum's awards include the 2014, 2015, and 2016 Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) Distinguished Service Award, Two Life Saving Awards, Three Honorable Service Awards, a Program Development Award, Educational Achievement Award, and in 2019 Officer Elbaum received the Valor Award from the Morris County 200 Club.

Officer Elbaum is currently assigned to the Patrol Division and serves as one of the department's Law Enforcement Against Drugs (LEAD) instructors. Elbaum is also a certified Field Training Officer, 911 Telecommunicator and has received specialized training in Emergency Medical Dispatch and CPR. In 2016 Elbaum initiated the "Coffee with a Cop" Program, which was developed to improve trust and build relationships with the community. 

Officer Elbaum is a member of the Police Unity Tour, which is an annual 300 mile bicycle ride from New Jersey to Washington D.C. The Tour raises awareness and support for the National Law Enforcement Memorial located in our nation’s capital.

Officer Elbaum has served in the capacity of the President and Vice President of Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge #122.
