On Tuesday, April 3rd, 2024, the Mount Olive Township Council approved a resolution joining cities throughout the State recognizing New Jersey Local Government Week from April 7th – 13th, 2024.  Because local government is the government closest to most citizens, and the one with the most direct daily impact upon its residents, it is important that residents understand how their local government operates, the services it provides, and the importance of their active involvement.

Our 199 employees (164 full time & 35 part time), are directly responsible for keeping our Township growing in a fiscally responsible direction, providing excellent public safety resources, offering recreation opportunities for residents of all ages, maintaining Township infrastructure, and practicing responsible sustainable efforts.  Our employees are dedicated and strive to provide exceptional customer service to our residents, businesses, and visitors.

NJ Local Government Week is an opportunity to help our residents become more informed about the many services we provide, which will lead to more knowledgeable citizen participation in the future.

NJ Local Government Week, sponsored by the NJ State League of Municipalities, is a weeklong celebration that raises awareness about the importance of municipal government and its daily impact on residents.

On Tuesday, April 9, 2024, from 9 am – 11 am in the Council Chambers, the Township will be hosting “Coffee with Council”. This event will give you an opportunity to meet our Township Council and discuss your questions and concerns.  In addition, on April 11, 2024, the Township will be recognizing its employees with an appreciation luncheon.
